Christmas 2009 | Sailing in Thailand Incentive

Christmas is hard work, so what’s the point if theres no play afterwards? We’ve put together an epic 10-day adventure on board a Diving Yacht in the Andaman sea as way of a thanking our most deserving affiliates. We will sail down this exceptionally exotic coast to Malaysia, anchoring in hidden coves, discovering the underwater world and exploring the Thai bars!

There are six places available, so plenty of opportunity for those who run a strong campaign over the coming months to jump on board. With a Skipper and Chef you can really laud it in the sun - just remember to keep an eye on the fishing rod. For the more energetic there are sails to hoist, diving, climbing, kayaking and err… elephants (more on that later).

Keep your eyes peeled and keep checking back on this blog, where we’ll update you with snippets to help your Christmas campaigns and release more info and pics about the trip in due course. As always, drop me a line if you have any questions. The race is on!

We have thought long and hard about the best way to structure this competition with the aim being to make it as fair as possible to all affiliates, old and new. Therefore we are offering the opportunity for every affiliate to win one of 6 places on our sailing trip. All you have to do is comply with the following:

Tells us you want to come. If you want to come with us, email me your Affiliate Window ID at elliot.taylor@iwantoneofthose.com and tell me so.

Impress us. If you got good ideas and can implement them, then go for it. We are looking at innovative and imaginative approaches which work. We want to encourage all, so no matter how you have performed in the past, if you work hard this Christmas theres a chance to come.

Get Results. We all know that high revenues are the name of the game and we’re not pretending they are not, but we also value creativity and improvement. Hit the high targets and your coming with us.

Drop me a line and let me know what you’re up to, if we don’t see it, we can’t judge it!

Banners: A lot of our affiliates design their own creative that fits within the genre of their website. Don’t be shy in doing this; show us you’ve done it!

For extra brownie points, offer the use of the banners to our other affiliates. This wont go unnoticed!

For extra brownie points, create your own videos and let us see them.

Emails:  Why not design your own email creative and send it to your own lists. Just be sure to show usdesign your own email creative and let us see it.

Product Content: We love it, customers love it and so does google search! Write and blog about our products, remember you can pop to the bottom of our site and View Press Area for some more images to use.

Check Our Affiliate Blog: We are putting a special effort over the next few months to keep everyone up to date with what is going on at IWOOT. Whether it’s a TV appearance, exclusive products or some new creative, we’ll keep you upto date and drop some hints about how to strengthen your campaigns.

Social Media: Twitter, Facebook and our blog. Link us, blog us, follow us and errr. Twit us. We’ll relink, reblog, guest blog, retweet – you name it. Head over to our blog ( http://blog.iwantoneofthose.com/ ) and on the right hand side we have links to our social media feeds.

Dear Affiliates

We have now completed our annual in depth review of our Affiliate Programme  and I am writing to let you know of some key changes which we shall implement as the result of this review.

VoucherCode Affiliates.

As from midnight Friday 6th November 2009 IWOOT will cease to work with Voucher Code Affiliates and will not pay Affiliate commission to Voucher Code sites on transactions effected after that time.

We consider Voucher Code Affiliates as those whose URL contains the term (or derivatives of the term) -: ‘code’, ‘vouchercode’, ‘promotional code’,  ‘voucher’ ‘coupon’, or whose Website appears in search engine listings under any of the terms or derivatives of those outlined above or whose  ’s primary focus is to promote the use of vouchercodes

We are taking this action since we have concluded that we should prefer to ensure that any promotional campaign we may decide to operate should benefit our customers, rather than intermediaries and that the vouchercode affiliate channel does not serve to strengthen the Brand relationship between IWOOT and our customers.

Therefore if you are a vouchercode directory please ensure that you remove all IWantoneofThose.com links by midnight,  Friday  6th November 2009.

Cash-Back Affiliates.

We have decided that as from midnight Friday 6thNovember we shall cease to work with all but a selected few Affiliate cash-back sites since we wish to initiate and manage targeted campaigns with these selected Affiliate cash-back sites on a specific and partnership based arrangement for the benefit of our customers.

No affiliate commission will be paid to Cash-back Affiliates on transactions effected after this time.

Well we have a hard act to follow! Julians done a fab job and we are sad to see him go, but know he is off to new challenges and new opportunites. We wish him well!

I’m Leaving IWOOT

I’ve worked two and half years now at IWOOT and a few things started bugging me. The chair I sit on has taken the exact shape of my behind. I’ve also become quite attached to my desk plant, which worries my shrink. Once, even, I was walking back from a night out and went to the office instead of my house!

So, I thought, it’s time to move on. It has been great working at IWOOT, I’ve learned a lot and had to opportunity to try out a lot of things. I’ve had a great marketing team to bounce ideas off, a ton of gadgets to play with, and infinite patience of my MD to test.

To be honest, working with affiliates has been a highlight. I’m not saying this because this is an affiliate blog, but because no other marketing channel has such a huge budget for beer and events. The people in the industry are all great (yet to see a properly grumpy one), I love the fact that we all work towards the same goals, and are here to co-operate, make sales and have fun.

My last day here is the 14th of August. If there are any projects that you started with me and want to finish off, do let me know. After that the rest of the team - Paula, Elliot, Angus and Matt - will pick up the channel and drive it forward. Julie Wood is of course always there to help. What IWOOT Is Up To On Weekends

Well, what could we be up to, but playing with toys, testing out gadgets and having a few (ahum!) drinks. The other week our MD Richard invited us to his farm where we settled for the weekend, see our official blog for more info and pictures.
